Default Allison V12 on ebay

Hey Charley, don't you need a spare?

BTW, this one isn't a model. It is the real thing.

Or you can build your own Green Monster.

What a great shot of a very early Green Monster. I remember seeing this car on display somewhere in the Akron area in the mid 50's. We still lived in town so I was around 7 or 8.
Here is the Mill and Hardware that the Arfons worked out of. My parents bought all there garden plants there. It would kill me when we went there because there was a couple of planes out back, a T6 Texan maybe, I always wanted to get back there.

If you want to see Allison engines, stop by Fantasy of Flight in Polk City, FL on I 4 sometime. Kermit Weeks owns F of F and had 50 plus brand new Allison engines sitting on original pallets in his engine storage area. He outbid a bunch of racers and tractor pullers at an auction that Les Staudacher had in Bay City, Michigan a number of years ago. Les was a famous boat builder (Miss Budweiser and others) and bought them as military surplus after WWII.

Kermit will only sell them to individuals that are restoring WWII planes such as the early P51 Mustang, etc.

Thank God he got them and saved them from being blown up. I understand the need for boat racers and tractor pullers but these warbirds cannot fly with out a correct engine whereas the boats and tractors have alternatives. Kermit has one hell of a collection of "stuff".

Yes he does, something like 170 plus planes and hundreds of engines. He has one of a handful of Japanese Zero's.

Unfortunately he closed F of F to the public last winter. It's only open for private groups, parties etc. now. Last time I was in there he introduced me to Charles Lindberghs daughter while he was showing her around the place. He's a pretty cool guy, fun to talk to.
