Guys and Gals, I'm thinking of selling a 1 of 1 (the only one made) pedal car that I have had in my collection for a number of years. THIS IS NOT A TOY!!! It is a hand-built replica of the car that won the very first Indy 500, the 1911 Marmon Wasp. The pedal car was built to scale by a retired Engineering Professor from a college in Kentucky. Every piece is hand made and appears as the genuine race car. The Marmon Wasp was the first car in automotive history to have a rear view mirror; so does the pedal car. The pedal car also has a real wooden steering wheel, real knee-action shocks, real leaf springs, pneumatic tires, etc. I took the pedal car to the Indy 500 Speedway Museum and was able to take it inside for a few photos next to the real car; the staff at the museum had NEVER seen anything like it! A display stand was also made by the builder and will come with the car if someone is really serious about purchasing it. Like I said, I have it for many years and now might be the time for a new caretaker. I can send photos to anyone who thinks they might be interested. Again, this is NOT a toy, but a true piece of Indy 500 memorabilia that no one else will have. I would like to get $4500.00. I've seen pedal cars at Barrett-Jackson sell for WAY more than that and weren't half as cool! Google "1911 Marmon Wasp" for info. on the real race car. Thanks, Dave

I'll give it a try. Admittedly, I'm not too good at posting pics.

That is it...Ray Harroun won it that car averaging 74mph. Doesn't sound fast, but think about driving that thing for 500 miles at speed and it is pretty amazing.....in 1911! I kinda remember it taking 6 hours to complete the race. I just sent a bunch of pics to NovaBoy. I hope they get posted so you can see....it is pretty cool!
