From what I'm told by the original owner, those pictures are from the first week he owned the car. |

----Rick,,,The tires appear to be possibly a size or two bigger than an "F". Maybe that's why the change, but they are definetly Daytons......Bill S
----I should add that I cant quite see the fronts as clearly as the rears, so maybe only the rears were sized up. Being a 375 it would certainly be necessary. |

I realize they are Daytons, but my contention is that they were put on when the car was new, as the original owner did not change them the first week of ownership, but I'll ask him again.

Okey Dokey here goes a few observations before work:
The '69 Chevelle could've had a tire change at the dealership before it ever left the dealership. We used to do it all the time. The finance manager would upsell tires and compare them to "builder grade" carpet. The take-offs would then be sold (or stolen) to employees, etc. As a kid, my cars ALWAYS had brand new take-offs and I went through them quickly. Heck, a teenage gearhead with an unlimited supply of free tires? What could be better? The "Charlie Jacobs" Chevelle has been substantially modified as it looks to be a leaf spring rear suspension with an altered wheelbase. The "Tire Town Rat" (I'm darn near positive, unless there were two) is the Yellow ZL-1 that was found and owned by Bill Porterfield. If my memory is working, that was a double COPO from Berger, and the #3 ZL-1.

Love the last two pics. Some of the '60s-'70s "panel" paint jobs are really cool and this one "ain't bad"!
The "Motion" Camaro was bad-a$$.....not the prettiest, but one tough car. Funny thing back then, not all race cars were aesthetically pleasing. Some looked good up close, some looked good from the stands, some didn't look good at all.
