Here are some of the dates & numbers from my inspection. Trim tag X44 04C fathom green on dark green. Options from the GM Of Canada documentation: M22, console, U17, VE3, ZJ7, NC8, T60HD battery. Note it is radio delete and is not coded for spoilers (D80). The block is cast A309, The front pad was decked with no restamp, heads 840 (A229 & A289), Empty incorrect Muncie case but complete M22 guts & a BR 12 bolt. NOS parts included where complete GM front end already painted Fathom, NOS trunk lid, 4:10 posi carrier & gears, NOS dash carrier, NOS door w/s, NOS chambered crossover tubes, Gm gas tank, original rad, YJ rallyes, 9B26 (418 starter), NOS jack, B89 (065T) waterpump, 178 & 878 manifolds & smog, 4346 carb plus numerous other NOS parts. I would love to know how the block & transmission all of a sudden "reappeared" as I would like to meet the magician.

I have seen on two different occassions where a car was sold without the original motor and then found and reunited. I know right now a COPO Camaro without a motor and a couple of hours away the original motor is sitting. Someday they will be reunited, but for someone to find the complete drivetrain is quite an "accomplishment"!

The Cortez Silver car was sold in Montreal,M21 car with rally's. Don't know much more about it, other then that. COPO9566aa is French Canadian and has helped me ever chance he gets. I'd like to hear more about the blacked out back panel. Makes me wonder if it was a X66 car. It's vin is pretty early. Any body know the latest vin # on a X66 Yenko???

The Canadian Cortez Silver Camaro (COPO VIN 6342***) is probably #5 on the COPO Connection's Canadian Registry . Yes, I'm French-Canadian. What I meant to say was that I knew of 2 COPO Camaros in Montreal in the mid-80s, one Cortez Silver and one Phatom Green, one of the two had a black tail panel with some kind of crest or dealer emblem (Montreal dealer). But I can't remember which of the two cars had the black tail panel. That stuff is getting old now. (PS I was more into the Shelbys in those days) Merci Thanks |
