------Back in the mid 70s a buddy of mine in FLA. built an LS6 powered Vega with a 10 inch engine setback.Cant remember the specifics but I know he never got near a racetrack with it.He used to bring the thing out late at night with enough prodding and just slaughter anyone unlucky enough to goad him into anything.......Bill S

there is a Motion Vega in the past feature car section.
Most were LT1 but there were a few with 454. Motion advertized a 9 sec Vega. Not long after that the G-men went down to Motion to talk to Joel and shut down his car production. ![]() |

The 1975 (vol.6, number 1 ) Issue of "Chevy hi-performance & accessory Guide" has an article on a "rolling Test vehicle" that was equipped with a 350 LT1 motor with the "Edelbrock's Smokey Ram intake with a single carburater and a "Paxton supercharger". The Gov. was going to fine Joel something like 10K for every car that he sold with air polution devices disconnected. Joel had to get a lawyer and go to DC. They made a settlement where Joel had to agree to stop selling cars for highway use. The Gov. used the car magazine articles about Motion to make their case on him.
I have seen 2 Motion built BB Vegas in old magazines maybe a few more were built but not many. There were also some with turbos, and one was a woody wagon. The place were Joel bought the Vegas also sold their own V8 Vega and sold the Yenko Stinger Vega. |
