I don't know if I believe this guy. He listed this car for sale on ebay, and gave some whacko number for the vin. I proceeded to email him for the "correct" vin, and he gave me this, "3G87H2R106316", which is still not consistent with a true W-30. He says the car is original and unmolested, but I think he's not telling the truth. What do you guys/gals think? Here's the auction Olds

Nice hood I'm not seeing the orange fenderwells.. W-30 emblems could've been added any time to that car in the past 30 years. Looks like they've been on there a while though. Looks to be a real 442 anyway.

Jeepers !! Could the guy come up with any MORE impossible VIN numbers for the car ?? All we need is a good Hemi B-body VIN thrown in for the fun of it ....
It IS a '72. And you can tell if it is a W-30 in '72 by the VIN - - just not THOSE VIN's ..... Prior years you cannot tell engine by VIN. However, ALL "W" cars were built in Lansing - an "M" for the 7th digit. Cutout bumper is a good sign. |

Also visible would be an aluminum intake manifold, sport mirrors and possibly the optional aluminum rear end center section--just some info.

I wouldn't trust this guy. Maybe if he had the numbers on the engine, and a window sticker, and a build sheet to back all of this up, I'd believe him then. Way to get my hopes up! What a ba$tard!

I didn't even notice the "David Blaine" edition rear spoiler. Do you think it was on there for a few pics then fell off?? or off there for a few pics then fell on??
Sure wouldn't trust this as a W-30 car now without docs.

the guy emailed me and said that he'd have proof within a couple of days to prove that it's genuine, but i doubt he's telling the truth.

According to the VIN he gave you the car is a '72 Cutlass S Hardtop Coupe with a 350 2 bbl. single exhaust assembled in Arlington, TX. A true W-30 will have the letter X in the VIN.
