Default New to the Board..Looking for LS6 Chevelle info

Hello all, first let me first start by saying, "do not stone me for my username", I collect Mopars but love all Muscle Cars. I want to learn more about the 70 Chevelle SS 454 LS 6 cars. I'm a novice when it comes to Chevy's in general and I want to know what I should look for when purchasing an original LS 6, Data Tag info ? Body #'s , Codes etc. I'm sure like Mopars there are a lot of fakes and incorrect cars running around , any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

Welcome to the board. You should go in and update your member profile so people know who they are talking to. This is a great board, and many, including myself will step up to help you in researching LS6s. I own an LS6, but would not consider myself an expert on them. You can go to my webshots account and take a look at some detail shots I took of my unrestored LS6. It's a good reference point from which to start. You also might want to use the "search" feature to see prior threads talking about the LS6. For whatever reason, there is yet to be a definitive writing about the LS6 and its unique features.

BTW, I spent a few minutes on your website and was duly impressed. You have quite a collection there.

Welcome aboard. I know you will enjoy it here. There are some good people on this board.

Regards,

M G Porter

I'd actually advocate for such a topic...even though those Torinos were heavy, smogged out and not all that fast, there's something cool about them....in a nostalgic kind of way.

If I can be of any help please let me know..They are really fun cars, which in my opinion are sort of undervalued at the moment..Try to buy as documented of a car as possible..A buildsheet is considered a must..Any questions feel free to ask..
