Default Carlisle Advise

Trying to get to the spring Carlisle this year. I know that this is a giant show, but I will have only 1 day(Friday). I have not attended any of these shows in the past. Any advise in navigating this show to get maximum results would be apprecialted. Thanks.

I suggest you get there a day or so earlier. If you can't, You must go real early if you are coming up or down the turnpike. You will NOT believe the traffic. If you have never been there, one day is not enough. It is just way too much. I will be in bumper to bumper traffic by at least 5-5:15 Friday morning. Pray it does not rain. Park on the private people lawns for $10.00. People rent their yards out for parking. You wouldn't need to take a shuttle. JMO

This weekend? I'm picking up a car in Allentown on Sunday and taking (76) to Akron. Sam, when you say traffic are you talking like an hour of possible bumper to bumper?

Generally Jim, The traffic on the turnpike starts at about the 2 miles to Carlisle sign. The traffic is on the shoulder of the TPK. and the first lane. Unlike Cali., we have only a 2 lane turnpike. The inside lane is the thru lane. It is a pain, but it is like....therapy to me. Don't really need anything, but you gotta go.

Allentown is 35 minutes north of me. You can go to rt. 78 to 81 around Allentown and go straight into Carlisle. You can come from Carlisle to Allentown just due east in about 95 minutes. Easy trip. What time on Sun.???

I can't make it this year. I really wanted to go because I've never been there and it sounds like a great time. I will make it next year for sure. Are there any RV parks within walking distance or do they allow overnight RV'ing on the grounds? I want to make my plans/reservations early so I don't have a problem next year. Suggestions?
