Default New Motor for my Camaro

Finally decided to keep my Camaro. I figure I've got so much into it that it wouldn't pay to get rid of it.

Soooooooo, I'm gettin' a new motor. 350 SBC, Built (350 HP approx.), turbo 400 trans (built). No carb, alt., water pump, etc.

You're probably asking yourself, "Is your motor now really that bad?" Yes it is! In the car currently: 305 (140 HP), turbo 350 (good cond.).

I have to take out a short term loan for it (I'm a college kid and have no money), but it's not that bad . . . $600!

Only thing I'm worried about is paying the loan off, but I'm sure it'll work out.

I've enclosed a pic of my car if you haven't already seen it.

Oh, does anyone want a 305, less alt., less ps pump, less water pump, etc.????? Only want $100 for it. It's a stong runner, but lacks in HP.

I pulled my built 2 bolt 427 and some cash for a CE coded COPO engine needing a rebuild. Had to pull the perfectly good motor out of my car, and then trade for, and rebuild the CE motor.

As a result, I've been living in a house just like the one next to your car.

Now you are showing some good sense. Get the education. I never finished HS. I got lucky and always worked for myself but you can't beat a good education.

You can always find a neat car to buy in the future when you start to make the big bucks. Most important is that you will need more than a fast car in the future. The education will always be with you. The fast car may not?

Good score! A much needed improvement over the 305!! Is your current tranny (350TH) good? If so, I'd stick with it, as a stock 400 is overkill for your combo, and a built 400 is REALLY gonna be overkill. In fact, you'll LOSE some ponies by going with a stock 400TH over a 350TH, and a built 400TH is REALLY gonna eat some power. Sell that 400TH and recoup some of your money...

That's exactly what I was thinking and that would definitely get my vote!

Unreal...Thanx for the compliment on the hacienda...just moved in next door to skierkaj. Know anyone who does aluminum siding on the side? I already have lined up Mark Hassett to do the roof.

You really think I should sell the TH400? I suppose if I can get $100 for the motor in my car now, and ??? for the trans., I really won't have invested much at all for a practically new motor. The Deal hasn't actually gone through yet, but hopefully by the beginning of next week It'll be in my garage!
