Default Questions about SCR 8.

Is everybody here invited to participate?
Now the complicated part. I think Lamar Walden and Robbie want to go and trailor the car. Robbie would prep the car with slicks and skinnies and is an experienced driver. Untuned, through the exhaust, we are putting out 657 to the rear wheels through the Moser 4.11. That's at 4psi. Lamar says with the new tuning and the 10psi we plan for it will put the rear wheel HP at around 825 - 850.

If they don't want to go I might have the car shipped (assuming I'm invited) but would need somebody to take it down the track. Would that be possible? Who would I use to transport the car? I figure my wife and I would drive or fly up.

I don't want to internet race this car but would like to know what it is capable of doing on the strip. Sans A/C and lighter front end parts, skinnies, etc. we should be putting out about 1 HP per 4 pounds of car weight. I want to know what it will do. Any ideas???

is this your 02 zl1?
did you supercharge it? or turbocharge it?
we could sell tickets to drive it down the 1/4 !
that could pay for the shipping!!

Yep. F1 Procharger and solid roller (.780 lift/intake) are the major changes we made.

I think they want to go. I'm just looking for a back-up just in case.

I have been practicing with the Nova and the 02 car..any chance I can drive for you???!!!! (Chill out guys, I am just kidding!) It would be great to see the car make a few passes and although they are both too timid to say so, Rob and Tom are more than able to drive for you.

Looking forward to seeing you both and your car in Sept.!

If Robbie and/or Lamar can't go the first thing I'll have to do is get the car there. Plus, I need to be sure there is somebody there qualified to drive the beast. No way in hell I'm going down the srip in that thing!

Ray: if you're looking for a backup to transportation, you might give Fred @ Concours a holler...I believe that's the fella that gets a lot of recommendations from guys on here. But, if you guys do decide to trailer it up yourselves, you might holler at some of the other Georgia guys, and join the caravan up...that way if something *should* happen, the extra sets of hands can help get ya back rolling.

Also, I think you should think about taking the car down the track *yourself*...the sYc has the track all day to ourselves, so you can take it at your own pace...you can make as many single passes as it takes to get familiar with the car. Yeah, you may not start out running as fast as the car is capable of, but even a seasoned driver is gonna have to get acclimated to the car...plus, after all the work & time y'all have put into the car, you deserve to enjoy it!
