Default 010 Block

I just aquiried a smallblock 010 4 bolt main block,looking up the 010 numbers it says a 302 or it can be a 350,how do you tell if it is a 302 block for a z28 Camaro or a 350 block!

Thanks

Bobby

It was used in both the 302 CID & 350 CID engines.
1969 was the only year it would have been used as a 302 CID for the Z/28,so check the casting date in back & application prefix stamped on the front pad,and if there's a VIN# stamped into it too.

A cast date of April 69 to November 69 could be 302.

I thought it was the crank that made it a 302

010 is the last of the '69-'70 Z/28 blocks (302-350)and was commonly the replacement or "service" block that was used.

Bobby
That's a 1973 C-10/C-20 Truck Motor.
TJZ=350/155HP 4BBl
V=Flint assembly plant
11=November,1972
03=Day
3941182=350 forged medium journal Crank 3.48" stroke

Check that J1232 casting date again?..is the 1 really a circle with a line through it?
This would make more sense:
J=October
23=day
2=1972
