I do own a 70 L-78 Camaro with mostly original paint. Car needs resto and eventually will get FULL everything.
I've been following the above subject with much interest for years.
I've never read, seen or heard of an accurate paint company code for the tailpanel black. After seeing BKH's Yenko that went to Charley I could SEE how Glossy they were. Most people go way too flat versus, a quite glossy semi-gloss.
There was also a low milage original paint Garnet Red 69 L-78 at Carlisle (yr ??) owned by Jeff Boone from PA. Hopefully readers here can attest to its gloss....
See my 70 L-78 Tailpanel below, and look in corner around license plate for gloss!!!

I will have my original paint 69L34 at the Camaro National @ Carlisle in the Y building with the Vintage Certified cars. You are welcome to inspect the tail panel.

Steve,

Mind if I take a small paint scraping ( sample ) for color
testing? It's an old car! Who cares!!

Just wondering out loud: can you use the same paint analzyer that they scan your car's paint with, on a photo of the car's paint? hmmmm

It has enough scratches over the years. Looking forward to seeing you, and hoping my car answers some of your questions. I know we have been trying to get together for over four years.

I painted my 70 camaro about 70-80% glossy . I think it's very close.
