1969 L88 Corvette, one of the last L88's, #36298, built November 22,1969; one of the lowest documented actual miles--2,250; one of the most extensively documented (real, of course) L88s both from the factory & from the original selling dealer.
This L88 was purchased from its original owner April 8,2005 with 2,241 miles. He ordered it on August 12,1969 from Dick Wickstrom Chevrolet of Roselle, Illinois. It is the only know factory red L88 with tan leather interior. Paperwork includes, window sticker, warranty book with Protect-O-Plate, order form, sales receipt, original title, affidavit from the original owner stating that it retains its original motor. From the time of purchase to now, it has undergone a complete & extensive restoration and received the Bloomington Gold award and two NCRS Top Flight awards, the most recent at the NCRS Nationals in August, 2006. All scores were 97 to 99. The reason for the restoration was that it had been drag raced extensively in the Chicago area from 1970's & reportedly turned mid 10's. It was 1st restored in 1983 and shown at the 1st Bloomington Special Collection. The second restoration in 2005 was done to make it as correct as possible for NCRS and Bloomington judging. In addition to its original motor, it also has the original M22 rock crusher, J56 brakes, 850 Holley carb, leather seats, door panels, front carpet (roll bar was in rear), dash, glass, & tires. We plan to bring this car to the Chicago Vettefest in November for its Triple Crown award. We feel it is one of a kind and are offering it for sale at $500,000. Serious parties may call Bruce Knierim at 512-219-1777 (H) or 512-762-1248 (cell). Here's a link to pictures of the car and documentation from the Supercar site, Members Rides section, 09-10-06. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/show.../page/0#223157 |
