As long as the shifter is on the floor, I don't think many people will mind the bench seat. Sure beats all to hell the bucket seat/no console/column shift TH400 '70 Goat I saw at Kruse Auburn a few years back....

They forgot to order the console... thats how that happens. Some people thought that because bucket seats were standard that the console came with them.

[/ QUOTE ]  I had a buddy who also ordered a new monte SS, when it arrived with buckets and a column shift he freaked. The salesman obviously did not guide him through the order sheet.  I blame the dealer. He had to take the car.

I'm not sure what the problem is with column shift? Maybe someone forgot to order the console, or they didn't want the console. It's not my first pick, but I don't think it's weird in the least.
