Default 1965 Corvette 396

Let me try this again. This is my car. Please call or email with questions. 714 925 0473. Price is 129k obo or interesting trade + cash. If you are looking for an affordable big block vette that is REAL, this is the one. Fly in and let's go for a drive.
2 Owners in the last 20 years, this investment grade 1965 Corvette is being offered from a private collection. In 1965 Chevrolet's "Mystery Motor" was first put into production cars. With 396 cu. in. and 425hp this car was conceived to go fight the Cobra's. These big blocks were not put into production until after Feb. 1965 which makes their production numbers very small. Couple that awesome power with cheap high octane fuel and you have a receipe for abuse. That is why it is very hard to find one of these cars in this shape with it's original engine. If you have been looking for a REAL 65 396 Vette, look no further. Car is in lacquer paint.
Car #17140 has an older frame off restoration that has recently been freshened. After the frameoff the car was campaigned and took home the coveted NCRS Chapter, Regional and National Top Flight awards. The car also passed the very strict NCRS Performance Verification process, or PV. Paperwork also includes 3 ring binders with pictures and registrations back to 1971, and the originating dealer was located where the car was sold in 1965. It comes with it's original numbers matching engine, close ratio 4 speed Muncie and 4:11 posi rearend. The car is also equipped with the following:
A01 Tinted glass
K66 Transistor Ignition
F40 HD suspension
J50 Power brakes
N14 Side exhaust
Z01 Convenience group
A31 Power windows
N36 Telescopic steering column
N32 Teakwood steering wheel
P48 Knockoff wheels (5 original wheels)
T01 Goldline tires
All the components on this car are correct including; carb, distributor, alternator, starter,etc...

Dana, I am surprised that no one has snapped your car up. To me it seems fairly priced, be patient I am sure that you will sell it.

Thanks Tim and Steve,
When I look at Vettes I always have them show me the engine pad and trimtag first, I usually stop there at about 80% of the cars. This is a good honest car.

I have known this car since 1988 when the former owner purchased it in Flagstaff, AZ. As Dana states, 90% of these and other solid lifter Corvettes all lost their original engines. This car has a great driveline that WORKS..... Real power !! It runs like a big block should. Then see the options (PW,PB,TELE,TEAK, and real original KELSEY HAYES KNOCKOFFS) and you start to realize how rare this car is. Only 2157 cars had the 396 engine. About 1405 were convertibles, so you do the math.........how many are left?
