I recently found a 73 camaro, and it sounds like it may be a real motion car (but..), I could use some help. It has motion badges under the z/28 badges on the front fenders, some big springs and a large sway bar-traction bar under it (connects up also near the top of the springs near body), a 6 k tach, a 4spd, a red scatter sheid bell housing, corvette looking valve covers on a 350 motor. It has a steel hood and not a fiberglass hood, a weiland manifold with a single 4brl, and a 10 bolt (not 12 bolt). It has one piece aluminum wheels and had a side exhaust like a corvette. It has a big radiator and non electronic tach. Big spoiler on trunk. car has been in a garage since 81. Motion badges look old and never tocuhed. Any z/30 experts out there? I talked to joel rosen already, I need to own the car to go farther with him.

Is the car Black? If so, I know the car and it's NOT a Motion car.
PM me if you like.

its maroon (paint code 74) with light interior. Just checking the older postings on this website, it looks like you could have made your own car out of catalog parts from motion, maybe that is what this car is. Its got an sun oil pressure gauge in the console. its been repainted maroon. Has hurst shifter. The traction bar spring deal in the back looks pretty cool. The radiator looks big (3-4 core, not sure). The original aluminum wheels were saved and the side exhaust. The 10 bolt and the 6 k in dash tach I think are bad signs. The car runs and will roast the tires. has headers.

Sorry, not the same car. The one I know of is a legit '73 Z, and a "--" paint code since Black wasn't offered in '73. It's had the Motion emblems and Ansen Sprints on it since new.
Good Luck. I hope things work out to your advantage.

I checked the pictures of a z/30 on this syc website (motion cars), and the z/30 example they have is a red car with a white interior. That's the color of the car I found (dark red) and white interior. It looks like that car color wise, I need to look at the wheels that are in storage for this car. Traction bar looks like the one in the pics where it goes up over the axle at the top. maybe I should look for an overdrive unit under it. The hood has hoodpins, but is standard steel.

A '73 would likley have a 10-bolt. I had a highly documented '71 Baldwin Motion Camaro and it had the original 10-bolt. Unfortunately, you need paperwork and/or documented ownership history. All the parts you described could have been Motion installed, or alternatively installed by a prior owner who also ordered some Motion badges from a catalog way back when.
