Default Help finding an old Lingenfelter magazine article

Back in the late `80's or early `90's one of the 3 big magazines ran an article where John Lingenfelter (God rest his soul) took a crate LS-7 454 and did his magic with it. Does anyone here remember that article or perhaps have access to it? I would really like to get my hands on a copy if possible. I've searched the big 3 magazine websites and the Lingenfelter website to no avail.

Help?

Eric

And after we find that I would love to find the 1998 C&D artical that features the '99 hugger orange SS.

Eric - try E-bay. I came close there and have not given up hope that I will find it there....one day.

Ray;

I've been looking on eBay as well, no luck yet there either.

What month of `98 C&D is the Camaro artcile in? I just checked eBay and every month except June is available, but I didn't see anything about a Hugger Orange Camaro.

I think I may have figured out what magazine it was in...posibly the December 1989 issue of "Corvette Fever", in an article titled "blueprint for power."

Couldn't find the issue on eBay, but that title rings a bell.

I don't know what month it's in but it had to be '98. I saved the mag but can't find it now. I may have to buy them all to find it!

Now that's a great article. I've bet I've read that about 50 times. It was in Car Craft magazine in the eighties and it was actually reprinted in one of the big block engines compilation books that you find at Borders or Barnes & Noble recently. I'll look for it but I still have so much stuff still boxed up from my recent move. I do remember that they installed that Comp Cam 305H camshaft, lowered the compression and put an epoxied-up Holley Strip Dominator manifold on top. Great article and I'll do some digging tonight.

One of the other all-time great write ups to me was the mid 60s C&D Hemi Coronet article. I remember the author drove from C&D to LA and cruised that famous strip....can't remember the name of the street now. He shocked quite a few hot rodders. I read that story until the pages were rat eared. Now Arias is making a Chevy hemi head so my dreams of owning a hemi may come true!!

OK, found out that's not the aticle I'm looking for, so the magazine and article title are still a mystery.

The search continues...does anyone remember the name of this article and what magazine it was published in?

Thanks.
Eric

Why don't you read my post again. It was Car Craft. That article was responsible for several friend buying LS-7's immediately afterwards.
