Default BB chevy reusable valve cover gaskets

Trying to find out what are the best reusable BB Chvy valve cover gaskets to use with cast covers, they will be going on/off a lot initially and don't want to mess with stuck on cork. Thanks in advance. SULLY

Maybe you can just use silicone temporarily. My guess would be that it would work. Should peel off easy..

These cheapie ones from Summit Racing are a bargain for the price. I have used one set last year, very nice rubber with steel bushing's at the bolt holes. I think these might be fine for off and on applications.

I've been using the black GM ribbed type for quite awhile now. GM #14085759. In fact, I don't even consider anything else anymore. It's a no-brainer. They have a steel core and retain their shape. A lot of rubber valve cover gaskets are really floppy and flimsy and I've seen cases of them squeezing into the inside and rubbing against a couple of rockers on each side that happen to be very close to the top rail. Heck, I've even stacked them on top of each other to hide expensive valvetrains in my street race days and they always remained leak-free.

Thanks for the input guys. Mark, you have good experience re-using those GM gaskets I take it.? Have you tried them with cast(aftermarket)covers.? Thanks again.

Yep, used them on factory valve covers and several different aftermarket ones also. I have bought valve covers at swap meets just to get sets of these and thrown the valve covers away. I think the set I have now, I've had about 10 years on several different cars with roller or solid cams so they've been on-and-off alot with no problems.

Yeah, you sure can, but if I remember correctly, they're kinda expensive. But look at it this way, they are the last set of valve covers gaskets you ever have to buy. Trust me on this. GM #14085759
