Default Interesting Barrett-Jackson Story

Last year at B-J (2007).....There was a Documented "Killer" 66 Impala Convert (Black on Black) L-72 car that was sold for $100,000 plus.......Car was parked inside in the Feature Car section with everyone Drooling over it.......Found this info on another Site...........Can't find the B-J thread from last year to repost the pic's (maybe Bruce can)......Interesting Read..

That Black 67 SS427 car that sold for like 100K was returned to the seller ( I know who he is but won't mention his name) because the car was a total fabrication! It WAS an original SS car, but was not a black car originally, was not a 4 speed car, was not a 427 car (was a 396 Turbo 400 as I recall), and was not a Z24 car. Other than that, it was gorgeous. The buyer found out about the bogus nature of the car when he was contacted by the original seller of the car (who sold it to the gentleman who sold it at Barrett) and returned it to Barrett and they in turn returned it to the seller, charged him the full 18% sales and buyers commisions, charged him to have the car sent back to him, and have excluded him from ALL future sales with their firm. BAD NEWS all the way around.

That's good news for you.
Didn't you want to own it back then, which means you probably can now and for alot less then Paulette's purse has in it.

Yep............That's it........Thanks for finding the Pic's..........I think with all of the Negative speculation about B-J.......This is a Pretty Positive response on their part to resolving the Issue

Ken,

Great to meet you and Paulette at R&S! I sure do like BJs response. That'll fix his little red wagon!

Just wish they would screen the cars better BEFORE the auction. Thanks for sharing this. It has provided the slightest glimmer of hope that there is hope for BJ and company.

Ken,
Was the other site talking about the '66 convert being a fabrication or the '67 SS427 fastback? I have pictures of the Black '67 SS427 from B-J last year.
