I was at Unique Performance on Tuesday to view the auction items. Lots of everything for sale as well as some nicely restored Mustangs and 69 Camaro bodies in various states of completion. Most with no frames and more importantly most with no vin numbers. I bid on a number of the cars but the prices for the cars with no vin’s was to rich for my blood. If you go to the auction site and view some the finial bids you’ll see what I mean. There was 69 Camaro 572 FI mini tub coil over’s rack black convertible nice car went to 42K with no vin. At the last minute it was pulled out of the auction by court order. In fact a number of cars were pulled out at the last minute by court order. It appeared some of the defrauded owners who could not get there deposit back were scrambling at the last minute to at least trying to get their cars back. A 25’ X 55’ vinyl ad banner for the movie “Gone in 60 Seconds” sold for 10,000.00. You could tell these guys had a nice set up at one time…to bad they screwed it up.
