Default Stinger hood question

We were installing the stinger hood on dads 67 Chevelle this weekend and I had a few questions. I called Glasstek which is who made it. He told me their mold for the stinger portion was from an original Yenko hood which they graft to whatever you want. I wanted to know if anyone made an insert to put in the forward opening, similar to 67 Vettes. Did the Yenko cars have a insert and if so are they available? The hood still needs to have the stinger painted so no pics have been taken yet. I can get some if needed. Thanks again for any help on this one.

Does the 67 Vette one fit?

I have seen pictures of the hood with the opening blocked off and cut out but I do not remember any pictures with the Corvette trim installed. When I had one years ago it was open and the airflow made a difference with controlling the heat from the 540 big block under the hood. How is the quality and fit of the hood?

I wanted to know if there was any insert and the only thing he said was where the mold came from. He didn't say the Vette one would work but dad and I were discussing that as an option or having to fab our own.

The fit and finish of Glasstek stuff is great. I bought a cowl hood for my Nova from them and it bolted right up, no adjustments to anything else was needed and the gaps were perfect. Dads fits good but we are fighting panel alignment from the prior owner, these were pre-existing problems that we can't get right. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again that's for sure. Once the stinger gets shot in red it will really stand out.

For those who do know the car it is a factory L79 triple black car, not a #'s car so he's having some fun. It's a Nickey clone. He wants to put the NIckey scripts on the scoop but are the ones in the catalogs correct with the forward K or should it be backwards like evrything else with their name on it?

The reason for the hood swap was the prior owner put an SS hood on it which dad didn't want so the stinger was ordered. It was a custom job and took a long time to get. I'll get some pics when I can of the hood as is.
