Default Need to vent.

I need to vent so I figured would do it here. I was in the garage Monday night and the wife calls me and says the washing machine just made a loud noise and smells like smoke. It is a Samsung front loader that is 2 years old and had a price tag of 900.00. So you know I am a little upset before I even get home.

So I get the operators manual out and find out the washer only had a 1 year parts and labor coverage, 2 years controls, and three year stainless tub parts warranty and I didn’t by the extended warranty. I never do! So I start to look the washer over. I find the inner tub assembly looks funny it was not spinning correctly when I moved it by hand. So I go the internet and search for a schematic of the washing machine. I was actually surprised Sears had all the information I needed. I am suspecting the inner tub balancer is broke from the schematic. Which is all part of the inner stainless steel tub assembly.

So I called Samsung, and of course a technician needs to come and tell me what is wrong with it. So today I had a tech tell me it was going to cost 650.00 in parts plus 200 dollars in labor to fix my 2 year old 900 dollar washer. The only thing that would be covered would be the stainless steel inner drum assembly which was 200.00. The tech says they always replace both outers and the inner together. I just laughed, because I am sick and tired of spending a lot of money for cheap Junk. I will try and fix it myself. The inner tub is about 200 dollars and I can return it if the outer tubs are damaged. I should have known not to try and actually get a warranty honored( A 70 dollar lesson). The inner tub will be here on Tuesday and if I can’t fix it I am going to run the dam thing over with my tractor. Stay tuned for pictures. LOL!! I will get my money back somehow!

I wish you could actually buy things that will last longer than a couple of years. Everything today is designed to fail in like 5 years it seems. Just makes me sick!
