Well I finally did it,after searching for t he past 7 years I purchased a 68 Camaro in Corvette Bronz. The basis for my quest was my first car was a 68 ,327 Auto ,black deluxe Houndstooth interior, with CB paint. I wanted one again and was not particular about the engine type as long as it had that color and trim combo.
While attending the Portland swap meet a few weeks ago I spoke with a vendor who has his 68 since May 72 and was now ready to sell. The Good Original color one repainted in 1975. Correct Black houndstooth deluxe interior. Removed from car in 1976 when car was drag raced. Car was sidelined in 1984 when engine blew. Engine rebuilt in 85 but after 100 miles car was not driven again. Never left the Wilamette Valley of Oregon. 79,000 miles from 68 to 85. Engine has most correct pieces except block. All born with body panels and 0 rust. Things to correct Rear end is a 69 BV Get correct rallye wheels Needs headliner (mice) Engine compartment too glossy. Needs tires. Eventual repainted Remove traction bars and frame stiffners. Get correct exhaust.
