Motion Lemans Style Gas Cap

I bought a lemans style gas cap off of epay, for a Corvette, that was said to have been purchased from Motion Performance years ago. It is a crude heavy casting, It mounts on top of the gas door by drilling three small holes thru the door and using threaded studs and nuts to hold it in place. So it's strictly ornamental. Guess my question is if this was just available as an over the counter add-on or could it also have been used on a Motion build?
