Default '78 Camaro, 28,000 miles, Pristine Original Paint, etc

This is gorgeous, and amazingly preserved, but also reminds me how much the American auto industry (and maybe the industry in general) had lost its way in 1978. You had the feds tightening the squeeze on emissions, and OPEC influencing oil prices, and the beginning of Japanese competition, and changing consumer tastes, all of which must have really shaken the planning departments in Detroit. Not sure how this Camaro was the answer, but it's kind of incredible that only 9 years earlier the same company had cranked out some of the meanest performance cars the world had ever seen.
