Default 1968 Corvette transistorized ignition question.

Does the T.I. system not use the cloth covered resistor wire to the +side of the coil? The illustration on line looks like it doesn't but has a separate white wire coming from the T.I. box. I tried firing it up for the first time and it seems like it wants to start after you stop cranking and return to the run position. I put an HEI in it and it started right up. Is there in fact a separate wire that goes to the positive side of the coil instead of the resistor wire?
