Rat_Pack,
I too think that day two cars are cool. One of my camaros has the signs of a mechanical tac which was mounted on the cowl panel grills and the cable was fed through the fire wall, with a gromet installed.(could have been part of the tac Kit) Another has the signs of a column mounted tac. and Hurst verti-gate shifter, both confirmed by previous owners. Would restoring the cars back to as used after it left the showroom floor be considered a day two restoration? Most of the factory correct components are only a phone call away and not usually found at bargin prices at swap meets. But I have alot of fun chasing down the era correct components and can usually find them at relative bargin prices. Swap meets are part of the fun in the Hobby for many enthusiasts. I recently saw a 1970 Yenko Camaro "concept" car. That was built very much ,in my opinion as to the way Don Yenko may have offered them to the public had he indeed built it. It did attract quite a bit of attention because of both its quality and execution. It was certainly something I had never seen prior. Very cool indeed |
