1971 muncie date code

i have a 71 454 chevelle with a build date of 01C and the engine assembly date code t1216cpa.the car was orderd in november of 70 and was deliverd on 01/28/71.my question is about the date code on the trans,it reads P1T15C,im thinking the t is december but the number 1 before it designates 1971 i think.shouldnt it be a 0 instead of a 1?the cars vin is stamped on the case and looks authentic.anyone know if they used a different code for 1971 for the montths?
