Now that another very successful SCR is in the books, it is time to thank a few people.
First and for most, my wife Diana, who covered for me at work while I was away. And, this is no ordinary task, as I am the local funeral director/coroner, AND, she did have to go on a call. Next, the crew from Alton, (Mo, Rob, Jon, Cat, Stacy, Adam, Alex, Jared, Beth and Tif,) who not only are vital in putting on SCR, but are also my pit crew. Having Joel and friends at SCR6 was due to the tireless efforts of Steve Sandlin. Trying to get 5 folks, scattered from NY to FL, to Collinsville, and back, was no easy task. The 18 or so racers, who braved the elements to be part of the "greatest show on earth", drag racing at the SCR. No where else on earth will you see such a collection of rare, documented supercars smoking the tires, banging gears, doing wheel stands and just having fun. Thanks guys, my hats off to each and every one of you. To the 45+ supercar owners who were willing to share their supercars with the public on Saturday. Even though I have been to 6 SCRs, I still get goose bumps each time I walk into the main hall and see all of the supercars assembled. The "Friends of the Reunion", whose contributions allowed the event to expand. The sYc could not have done it without your help. Jeff, who flys in from England to be the official photographer for the event, and pass out cigars. The Latrobe gang, who not only show up each year with some outstanding cars and neat memorabilia, but also are the official welcoming committee for the sYc on Thursday. And, all of the supercar "nuts", who show up each year, willing to help wherever they are needed, to insure a successful SCR. Whether taking pics, parking cars, taking gate, selling event shirts, even passing out refreshments in the hotel parking lot, all willing to do their part to make it a weekend to remember. I am sure I have missed someone, but it was not intentional. I appreciate each and everyone who had a part in making SCR6 the best yet. Thanks everyone, AND PLEASE COME AGAIN.
