It's been repainted and has a non-born with motor for a different trans... so what? It's a nice car from what I can tell, and there is first hand knowledge of its local heritage from a reputable board member. To me that speaks volumes and has more weight than any easily corrected imperfections. If your girlfriend is looking for an investment or a 990-point car, that is one thing, but if she is going to drive it to shows and have fun with it, I would have to say pursue!
I've had a couple a these '73s and without the 780 Holley they don't load up and are more manageble in traffic, and no solid lifters that require attention. When you put your foot in that quadrajunk, the car make noise and goes fast. And yes, but of mine had that air cleaner.
