Good time to buy? dealerships here on island had to let 750 employees go, We have been getting hit with hard rains the past few days were we got 6" rain at my place and one of the Army bases got 11" over the past 24 hrs. Wish it was the end of the month when they really really need to make their quotas in sales. i could use a new truck.

Jeff: it is indeed a good time to buy...I stopped by and talked to Mo @ the dealership yesterday to ask about his new grandson, but I also asked about sales...I couldn't believe the deals he was showing me...the *problem* he said, is on the financing end...they'd had several GREAT credit score customers get turned down...said 750 won't get ya in the door, and 800+ ain't a guarantee! Typical deal...it takes money to make (or save!) money...

It is! It tops out @ 850, but he said they've tightened the lending up so much that it's darn near impossible to get...unless you're happy with 14% or so?!

Chuck: you're gonna take a chance with a an LB7, huh? You should be able to get a KILLER deal on one...but why GMC only?

Rob, If I go with the Duramax versus a DODGE Cummins/6spd

1) I like the cosmetics of the grill/facia on the 03/04 GMC more than the Chevy

2) Price point will be less on 03/04 LB-7 than anything newer.......

3) Fuel injection problems and warranty issues seems to be all over the board. Figure if I buy one still under warranty, I can injectors replaced, serviced, ???

4) LB-7's apparently get better fuel milage.....

I continue to look............
