My buddy's 68 Chevelle SS was originally tripoli turquois, a black vinyl top with parchment interior.. How cool is that??? [/ QUOTE ] It sounds like a nice combo, but it's nothing unusual. |

I've restored several 70's over the years and they were nice drivers but this was my first attempt at a nut/bolt, frame off, rotisserrie resto. I had a lot of great advice from Jeff Dotterer, Chris White and a few of the guys on T Chevelle on correctness issues as well. Those guys know their stuff! My only problem is I can't just hop in it and go. I've put about 40/50 miles on it just to break everything in, now it's just trailored. It's still a lot of fun showing it though.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, but you sure don't see many around today in that color scheme.. I tried to talk my friend into leaving the car this way but he made it triple black when he restored it.. To each is own.. Rich

[ QUOTE ] I own (since 1977) a documented (shipper invoice & orig bill of sale) 68 RS Z/28 Cordovan Maroon with White Houndstooth interior and white stripes. There are several 69s in this combo, mine is the only 68 to have surfaced so far according to CRG. Also own (since 1988) a 68 SS/RS Convertible LeMans Blue with White interior, top and stripes. I can't wait to see what else shows up on this thread!!! [/ QUOTE ] Neither of those combos sound out of the ordinary - am I missing something? [/ QUOTE ] The maroon car is the only one known to exist. Other than that, nothing rare. Nothing rare at all....... ![]() |

I remember seeing a maroon Z/28-RS a number of years ago. I think it was a Day 2-type of car, perhaps? It was at Heartbeat City in MI.

don't know really if this is considered a rare color combo, but here is a pic of my original 70 special ordered monaco orange with black interior. (originally stripe delete)

You should have kept it stripe delete!
Rare or not, I'm just looking for unusual Camaros, although it seems it has become a free-for-all. I don't think Monaco Orange fits the bill but, hell, I'm not gonna stop ya from posting a picture! :-) What about those Camaros people have mentioned? LET'S SEE PICS! |
