Oh, the old tranny bench press olympic event. I remember that from when I was a kid. Real easy with Muncies but wait til you move up to the heavyweight class and have to do the Chrysler A833 cast iron four speeds. That take some real muscle (of which I no longer have...and got smart and bought a trans jack. )

Here's some of those same tires on a local Oldsmobile I saw a few weeks ago:

Oh yes, I remember those days as well.. I remember picking gravel out of my back after laying under there wrestling a snag-n-saw tranny back into a 64 C10 more than once... Makes you really appreciate a garage

Yeppers...I remember doing that on my brothers Camaro, too! At least we did it in the garage...on our backs...with jackstands.

He had a couple of problems with it...so we got really good at taking it out and putting it back in. The best thing we ever did was incorporate one of the "then current" HOT ROD magazine backyard mechanic tips...and screwed in some looooong bolts with the heads cut off...so we could just slide it in (Okay...that sounded weird )
