The name on the qtr panel that says Larocco is my buddys dad and uncles, they are cousins to the original owner of the copo.Mike Larocco had a 69 ZL1 pro stock camaro that he bought fron Sam Gellner in 1970.The camaro used to run at dargway42 and thompson raceway and was raced under the name L.S.D. for the last names of the guys that were partners on the ZL1. [/ QUOTE ] They raced under the name LSD or were they on LSD while they raced??? Thats a cool story and this car has some awesome history. Mark

I really love the car, owner stories, and photo history on your car! Such an amazing day two historical trip you have documented.
Did it ever come to a conclusion where the vintage drag photos are from? I'm kind of interested since it looks like my 67 gold L79 M21 4.56:1 Malibu might be sitting in the background shot of the photos in post 429020 on pg 17. The car was out of West Chevrolet in Mogadore, just outside Akron, and raced local dragways by Frances Ripley from Tallmadge and then Greg Phile from Ravenna. Can anyone pinpoint the dragway in those photos dated June of 72?

Neat pictures Ray , would like to see more!
![]() Here are some pics of parts off the COPO racer. It still had the original alternator on it , along with the upper and lower radiator hose's and bottom crank pulley. The upper hose only has an AU stamped into the hose and the lower on has a white stamped part number but is much bigger than the REPO's you get now. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

A few more , the valve covers have "Japan" stamped in them , didn't know they were making our speed parts back in 1970? Both of them have GM "S" rivet oil caps on them. The plug wires are dated 5/71 ( I might have to update those!)
