The L78 will run as good as your 427 IMO.

OK..got a little excited there for a moment..first of all..I raced M22 MIkes L-78 at the reunion..that "little" L-78 runs pretty damm good!! ..but cubic inches never hurt ..as for the motor..to say I would be a interested party is a under statement and even though the motor was built on a friday..VIN was stamped later at/on the assembly line..Id love to know if there are any cylinder repairs/sleeves..Im pretty sure my motor sucked a valve from the parts ordered on the warranty repair order..PM has been sent as well..Im OK with whatever you decide to do

Haha. No problem, Albert. I too am excited for you. I guess these things happen, but never to me. haha.

Well, I definitely figured the L72 would be a little more impressive than the L78. As all I know about my Camaro is that it was a BB car, I thought that at least the L78 MIGHT have been a possibility to have gone in it. But, at the end of the day, if you don't know for sure, what does it really matter. I'll probably just do the car up as I'd like.

PM sent.

Al,
The 627MQ seems to be a late run of long block assemblies without vin stamping. I have one also and have heard of a few over the years.

Al,
I was wondering myself, if your motor was gone when you got the car. How do you know what engine build date (T 06 27 MQ) you need?
