Your comparing apples to oranges. Compared to a Chevelle, a Nova rides pretty stiff. They were cheap, affordable transportation that a few folks bought with big motors in. That made em fast, but not a very comfy ride. Add big tires, and jack it up, and it would like to beat you to death. But... at 18 in 1970, you didn't much care.
