It is hard to believe that "the powers to be" in Des Moines are too stupid to realize the amount of revenue an event like this brings to the community, especially after the many years that it has been held in the area.

Penny wise, pound foolish if you ask me. The revenue lost in food, drink , hotels, etc, etc to the local economy and business owners is bigger. Oh wait. Government does not really care about local businesses and the revenue an event like this can generate.
