For sure....eBay ad says the car was repainted blue many years ago. IIRC, the Plum Crazy cars were prone to paint fading/chalking back in the day.

Looks like it's had a couple blue paint jobs as evidenced by that door decal edge area.
I think the paint technology was bad back then for the Plum Crazy/InViolet color. I remember seeing a lot of purple cars with flaking paint and primer peeking through, all through the early 1970's - I think the first one I saw was 1972 down at our local shopping center. There were several in the area: a Duster, a couple Cudas and a Satellite that were more factory primer than purple. P.S. that ebay car also has a 1972-4 front bumper with the bumper jack slots. |
