Sounds like a joke, right?

Nope. Sold the El Camino yesterday. Had it advertised on CL. I really wanted to keep the early issue Centerline wheels. Never seen another full set like them and they have zero damage. Not even a nick. So, I offered a discount if the buyer wanted reproduction rally wheels with 235 60 R15 tires. I got the rally wheels from Crash a couple years ago when I purchased his set of Goodyear Wide Tread GT E 70 15 tires. I mounted the tires on my original YH wheels for the Z. The tires cam on my LT-1 Corvette, which will be getting original style F 70 15 white stripe tires. But I digress.

BTW, these wheels were all four perfectly straight. And, I have to say, all four tires were actually round. Thanks Crash.

Back to the one eyed drag racer from Arkansas. He decides he wants it with the rally wheels. He drove 6 hours to come and look at it. We drove it around and I put it on my two post lift down at the shop. He could not believe how rust free this car is. There are two spots about the size of a quarter; one at the bottom of a fender, the other right in front of the wheel on one quarter panel. Other than that, rust free. You can still see original Grecian Green overspray on the floor boards. Runs great and doesn't leak any fluids.

He races a Henry J straight axle car. Although he CAN tow with his pickup, he wanted something vintage to haul it to the racetrack. So, the El Camino is perfect for him.

Have to say, doesn't look half bad with the rally wheels. Of course, because I took these on my phone, they WILL be sideways even though I rotated and saved them.

Kind of like losing an old friend. But it was time. Making room for something special Have two other cars I plan to sell soon.
Lynn, I hope everything works out for you filling that empty spot with something special now that the El Camino is gone. Wink! Wink!
