Good work Dystra in bringing forth a member from the city this thread is about. A lot of names have been associated here in the legacy of Dick Harrell in his short tenure while in St. Louis. Always good for any of those having material relevant to share with others to enjoy & learn.

Mark, I too have wondered about this association? JoeC posted a copy of the invoice to Don Yenko for charges of a 427 Camaro conversion while in St. Louis. The scratched out part is that of Sanders and Carlsbad, NM?
This venture seems to have happened during the 62-63 years, while both were campaigning the factory backed, lightweight 409's & 427 Z-11's? An automotive shop in joint ownership is still a question of when & how long? Information Welcome? A post by Tommy McNeely, another racer from the Southwest Region several years back, mentions about He, Dick Harrell, & Frank Sanders were on their way to Sanders shop in Phoenix to get a set of S&S headers preparing for an upcoming match race. The year was 1965 as told by Tommy! |
