I was watching the movie "Italian Job" staring Mark Wahlberg(??)tonight, and to my suprise it had a 20 second chase seen featuring a Yenko Duece. I think it was green but may have been blue. The basis of the movie is set in LA, and Hollywood area when the car appears. Did anyone see this movie yet and notice the Yenko. I was wondering if the car was someones on this site or possibly a clone. It seemed to me that it would have been alot to spend on a clone for the quick shot. Althought many clones are out their. As you watch the movie the car just shows up during a chase when the story line takes a movie character back years ago as a rebel..
Thought it was neat. Wacky |

I saw that last night on DVD and noticed the same thing. I was going to ask here on the board, but you beat me to it. So...whose is it? If its a clone, I'm betting its out of the same movie car stable that built the 2fast2furious Yenkos.

WOW that is weird!! I just saw the movie myself tonight as well! I actually rented the movie just to see the Deuce clone in it because I heard about the scene.
About the car. It is a clone, it's a 1971, it is black, was NOT in Fast & the Furious 2, and was on e-bay a while back. I don't think that it sold for what the seller wanted which wasn't over 20K if memory serves. I personally think that it is awesome that Yenko's have made the main stream. Yenko's are finally getting the recognition that they deserve. I rented F&F2 and The Italian Job yesterday just to see the Yenko cars in the movies. Believe it or not the last time this Deuce was mentioned some members frowned upon the cars being in the movies. How could you possibly be upset about it? Who cares if their are some "incorrect" things about the way the cars were done. They were right for the most part and for the brief time that the cars were featured they were done OK. Would you rather it had been REAL cars that were damaged or smashed while making the movies? I think that exposure of more Yenko's featured in muscle car magazines, places like this web site, and shows like the Supercar Reunion have helped to bring them into the lime light. One way it might be helpful for the hobby is people that have had them stashed away might realize that they have something special and want to share them with the rest of us enthusiasts.

I remember seeing that on E-Bay as well a while back; & it was a black clone...
...can't remember exactly what it sold for either. Anyway, that was way before the movie was released; so the Yenko sparked my interest in the movie. Finally bought the DVD last week and was bummed to only see that couple-second long shot of the car... |

Frank,
We didn't frown on the useage of a Yenko in a movie, but only wished it was more correct clone. You will understand more when you bring your future deuce to a show, and people start telling (not asking) you that all these things are wrong with your car since it doesn't match 'the one in the movie' or 'the one in the magazine', or... Therefore, yours will be a clone since they would 'never' use a clone in a movie..... yada yada yada.... So, for some of us, it's just better that the movie industry leave the Yenko cars alone - they are only using them because of their 'dollar popularity' anyway. I think the cars are ultra cool in their own right, regardless of what Hollywood, speculators, or Wall Street investors think of them at the moment.

Marlin when I do get my Deuce it won't be my first car so there will most likely be no lessons that need to be taught. For example, if you watched the first Fast & the Furious at the very end AFTER the credits are through rolling (I bet that most people have not even seen this part) they show one last shot. They have Vin Diesel speeding down a beach in Mexico in a 1970 Chevelle SS red with black stripes just like my car. The car had sport mirrors on it like a late 70's Vette and the wrong steering wheel and seats I think. The first thing I said when I saw that scene was WOW that was my car! Cool! Not awww man the car is incorrect!

Geez Marlin, what did ya do, play the scene frame by frame? I almost missed the whole thing just by tippin a cocktail as the Nova came on. Seems I remember you mentioning seeing this car in person somewhere, so I am certain you noticed all the incorrect stuff that blind drunk old guys like me could not catch in 15 seconds. It did cross my mind though, Yenko didnt do black on the Deuce's did he? And was that movie clone black? I am thankful the Hollywood Yo Yo's dont tear up the real ones in the movies. I read somewhere it was 200+ 68 Chargers used to make the Dukes of Hazzard show, and 11 of them where originally Hemi cars. Aaagghh!

Yea, I remember the inconistencies from seeing the car in person, I have not seen the movie. Yenko did not make any black cars in '70, nor '68 & '69 for that matter, so the incorrect stuff is a little obvious - different year and color.
There are a few (real) deuces painted black today though, common thing to do with some of the paint colors. One deuce was originally gobi beige, now it's black with the stripes painted on in silver, 427 installed by owner!
