Default Dumb Yenko Question

What kind of Yenko emblems were put on the everyday run of the mill vehicles sold out of Yenko Chevrolet during 1967, 68 and 69. Did they just get the YENKO Canonsburg, PA emblem that went on the rear valance? Did anything other than "supercars" get the YENKO over the shield style emblem that went behind the front wheelwell on Camaros?

I believe they used a decal.I have a two different types from Canonsburg. The one commonly seen on eBay is not like either of the two I have.I believe it to be bogus.... I have seen a few cars with the black and chrome shield, however they were on restored cars.I wouldn't know if they were there from Yenko or not.

Just about everything sold out of Yenko, from a station wagon to a pickup truck, probably received the chrome and black YENKO crest emblem or similar decal.

The "regular" cars sold out of Yenko did in fact receive stick on crests. These were chrome plated die-cast metal emblems that had the recesses painted black. R/W/B shields were reserved for the high performance sYc cars. Yenko started using these sometime during the '68 model year. No concrete evidence of the use of the Yenko shield emblem has been documented prior to the '68 model year. My guess is it was designed and implemented sometime in early '68. These emblems were used until at least the mid to late 70's, and I've seen them on everything from 4 door Chevelles to full size utility vans. See the attached pic for a badly pitted but legit example.

Early use of the Yenko crest graphic was on the 1967 Harrell Funny car and the 67 Yenko/Harrell SS Camaro. I have not found the crest emblem in any 1967 pictures. I have the crest graphic on some Yenko paperwork and parts tags but not sure of the year of those pieces.

Park's car does indeed have black/chrome crests on it, (or it least it did the last time i saw it) but they were added later. 67 Yenko camaro's had 427 emblems installed at Yenko, but no Yenko badges. It is my belief that these emblems did not exist until 1968, and have never seen any photographic evidence to suggest otherwise. -JB
