I don't know anyhting about JL8 cars, but wouldn't the fact he states its a "service package" basically be saying it was installed at a later date, rather than as a factory ordered option? These setups WERE available over the counter, correct? Seems to be he isn't claiming its a factory installation.

I agree. This car is obviously not an original JL8 car. It is a matching number car that has had the 4-wheel disc brakes added at a later date. Since the rear axle matches the protect-o-plate, you can not really even call it a "service package" since that axle came as a package rear end and had larger bearings, different axle tube ends, etc. He is being vague most likely in the hope that someone will step up with big money.
