This same casting was used in thousands of 283 motors (don't rely on Colvin's book). How do you know this one actually came out of a 302 and has been heat treated? Is it still std/std?
Thanks,

It is going to a reputable shop on tuesday to confirm. This was part of an estate sale that literally has hundred of blocks/cranks/heads from a machine shop owner on the West coast that had been accumalating parts since the early 60's. A set of 3917291 heads dated J-27-7 and K-1-7 were right next to the crank in the warehouse....mmmmm...and yes they had the 2.02/1.6 valves and correct casting symbol...So that made me think/hope that I have indeed found one of the Cranks... and set of heads. It does look that off grey color....and yes it has been cut 010/010 John
