Jerry
Hard to say if it's an original Motion piece because Motion did not make the covers-Joel just bought them from various sources. Many companies made or repackaged these covers including Mr. Gasket, Rocket, ET, Cal Custom etc. I have heard or read somewhere that ET actually made the covers but sold them to Mr. Gasket and other companies and they just repackaged them in their own boxes. I have an original NOS Mr Gasket and it is identical to the NOS ET version I had at one time.

I would venture to say Motion used all of them at one time or another-probabaly used whatever he got the best price on or what was sitting on the shelf at the time. Everybody now uses "ET" in their motion ads on Ebay (The ET term is now generic is used like Zerox or Formica) but I would suspect Motion used the ones available from Mr. Gasket mostly because he was a big dealer in Mr. Gasket stuff and that is where he got his best pricing.

Alot of the "blister pack" speed stuff back then was usually made by one company and sold to others. The fiberglass fans that were sold through mr gasket and Rocklet were actually made by Flex-a-lite..who also sold them. I also have some NOS valve cover wing bolts from Mr. Gasket, Cal Caustom and Rocket and they are 100% identical even down the the small Japan lettering underneath the stem.

Another company that repackged stuff was Jones-Motrola who made the cable drive tachs for themselves and others including Moroso and Stahl. The tachs were identical. All they did was change the face plate.

I was just going to ask if anyone wants to buy one? I just took it off my 66 ss396. Its been on the car since the early 70's along with the 456's. The 456's are still there.

I cleaned this one up with acid. The rear and cover are going in my Camaro. I think the cover's cool. It's not as functional as the T/A cover but it's more from the era of the car.
