Here is my 1966 Chevy II. I have had it since August of 2004. I found it at
a local show and fell in love with it immediately because back in 1978 while I was paging thru Hot Rod magazine, I saw the Street Machine of the Year and it was a mist blue pro-street 66 Chevy II built by Scott Sullivan. From that moment on I said I want one of those. Snap back to the car show, while looking at the car, the owner answered all my questions and showed me all around the car and then asked if I would like to hear it run, Sure I said and he started it up and it sounded so good and loud and lopey and shaky I had to turn my head so he couldn't see me smiling. I owned the car two days later. I shopped seriously for two years with cash in hand and passed on about 6 cars until I saw this one. Some were dogs and others I could not afford. Always saving more money and gaining alot of knowledge along the way. My car is a California black plate SS Chevy II model with a stock exterior and very clean stock interior. I have added a fine modern stereo system but it is going to be completely removed and replaced by a stock radio. The car is so loud inside I can't appreciate the sounds and I prefer to listen to the exhaust. The drivetrain consists of a John Barrett Cruzer/Crusher 420 motor, Dr. Evil Pure Evil 700R4 trans and a Ford 9 inch with a Moroso Brute Posi unit 3.90 ratio. The laundry list of parts in this car consists of Scat, Keith Black, Comp Cams, Crane, Edelbrock, Barry Grant, MSD, Melling, Milodon, ARP, Hooker, Ron Davis, Black Magic, March, Flowmaster and Global West to name a few. I have a very thick folder full of receipts dating back to 1983 when it seemed like work began on this car. I have actually even made parts for the car myself in the machine shop. The car was put together very nicely and it is very clean and It's a blast to drive. Last summer I took it to Nova Nationals in Cedar Rapids Iowa. It drove there and back without a hiccup even tho there were a couple redline smokeshows in between. Used a GPS unit as a speedo and this car can move. Take care all.
