That was an extraordinary find and TV documentary and very neat to see that plane fly once again. I just wish they could have recovered more airplanes from that site. If nothing else, it helped make up for the idiot move that Darryl Greenamyer made with the flyable B-29 that he destroyed!

Rick, was that the B-29 recovery they rebuilt enough to fly out and hadn't secured the gas cans/tanks and it all went up in flames? .

man I about cried when I watched that one, to go through all that work out in the middle of no where and have her burn in the end, sad sad deal that was.

Maybe with Global warming the rest of the birds in Greenland can be recovered without having to sink a mineshaft through the ice.
Couple of B-17's down there in pristine condition.
