Bob, How many cars are in the L79 registry? Is there a website? Todd [/ QUOTE ] Fifteen cars in the registry to date, all GM Canada documented, except for the Acadian above. Ten are Chevy IIs, 3 Acadians and 2 1965 Beaumonts. There are 4 other Canadian L79s that I know exist, but either I haven't been able to track them down or the owners, for their own reasons, do not wish to have them in the registry. No, there is no website. I've found since starting the registry 5 years ago, that most of these owners wish to remain 'under the radar' and don't want it widely known they have these cars. I respect this. I didn't give out info on mine, either. One of the L79 Chevy IIs was stolen and chopped 4 years ago. Only 195 Canadian L79 Chevy IIs were built, plus 63 Acadians and 23 Beaumonts, so anybody who has one owns a rare piece of Canadian auto heritage. The fact that they are GM documented makes them even more valuable. If anybody knows of any Canadian L79 Chevelles, please let me know. None have surfaced to date. Bob

For those that may not know this car, it's a 1966 L79 Acadian Canso 2 door benchseat hardtop bought new in Victoria B.C. (bill of sale is still with the car). It was modified almost immediately for racing with dealer installed 5.13 rear gears and cutout rear wheel openings. As far as can be determined, it was garaged in 1970 and saw little running time after that. Bill is doing a full resto as original. Haven't talked to Bill for quite awhile. Do you know how it's coming along, James? Bob

I haven't heard from Bill in a while either but the car should be close to completion. I saw the white 65 L-79 Beaumont at a show a couple years ago.
