[ QUOTE ] "How many people are going to ooooh & aaaah over anobnoxiously lettered up, hillbilly suspensioned, wanna be drag-star that nobody ever saw run"? This statement can only be made by a guy that is to young to have lived the era or somebody who was not a car guy in his early days. When I seen that picture I had goose bumps not because of that car but because the memories it brought back. In the 70s you would see that all over, lettered cars cars that were jacked up so high they drove like crap and scarey to drive but that was the excitment about it. That statement hillbilly lettering every body had there own taste and there own budget and it was all cool primered or mint everbody enjoyed each others cars and always helped each other... [/ QUOTE ] Take it easy there ![]() As for your generalization about me 'not being a car guy', you are flat wrong ![]() Yuck! ![]() Hillbilly style! ![]() Nice!!! ![]() [/ QUOTE ] ![]() ![]() Honestly, I was born in 68. But when I was a kid I remember the musclecars that were in my driveway. None of them were stock and being around those cars is the reason I am into the hobby today. ![]()

What I was referring to was that Brgrman stated the car was sold Thursday 2/28/08 and to be picked up Sat 3/1/08 then on another forum states on 3/2/08 the engine doesn't go with car. I thought John bought the whole package and I guess he did, I was wondering why after the car was sold and gone the former owner was still mentioning the car as if it were still his. ![]() Tommy ![]() [/ QUOTE ] Let me explain, in the Nova deal there is a never fired LS-7 GM crate motor from 1974. John first wanted the 427 from the Nova and the LS-7 and not the car , so John bought the Nova complete and in tact. John was going to separate the 427 motor from the car, but John changed his mind and decided to keep the Nova as his nostalgic drag car and sell his drag Chevelle car instead. That 's how it stands as of today, but who knows. John also doesn't post much and asked me to respond to the thread. No the car is not mine right now, it's Johns. |

I like 'em both ways...and Marty Stuart's Hillbilly Rock tune too!.
Give Marlin a few more years and maybe he'll be paying big for all those hillbilly parts he so hastily tossed and made fun of?. ~ Pete ![]()

I do feel that once a vehichle sells it should be the new owners that post any information unless they cannot post and ask someone to post more for them. I think it a courtesy that the former should bow out from posting more about it to cut down on confusion. I never felt good about posting anything about a car I sold because it wasn't mine anymore. I do have pictures of them in the garage though ![]() Tommy ![]() |

Try to get some Motion Valve covers, that we threw off the car because they were not original factory.

Darren is correct, I was a little 'twisted' at 17 years of age - now I'm recovered, and like my stuff stock.
![]() I stand by my initial statement; unless it's a storied race car, take it back to stock ![]()
