The first Vette that I tried to buy in 1984 looked just like this car, it had 18K miles on it and was in original condition. A guy had it on the Chicago area at the time. Price was 10K at the time but I could not afford the insurance at the time. I wonder if it is the same car.

A fellow by the name of Tom Kelly owned a '68 maroon/black L89 Corvette coupe that came from Nickey. He moved to Arizona in the late 80's with the car. He had a nice W30 442 featured in Muscle Car Review in the 90's. Lost track of him, but he was involved in the Confederate Air Force.

In my opinion 1968 & '69 L71 vettes are the biggest bargains out there.

Just saw him on Sunday at the BOP car show. He was the one that directed my attention to the Bunkie Knudsen '61 Bonny Tripower (see "BOP" photos). He still has that beautiful green W30 '70 442. What a car! His Dad was a B17 instructor during WWII here at Willie AFB (now Williams Gateway) I have lunch at the flight line cafe occasionally and Jim had lent a bunch of cool memorobilia from his Dad's flying days which is placed on the walls with all the other memorobilia. ![]()
